Who does she think she is?
She goes all over the www claiming a lying and offering figments of her imagination as truth. But when some questions her authenticity she gets offended. The nerve of the troll! The president gets talked about 24/7 and he does not demand retractions or deletions. Who does she think she is? When you hit a search engine about David Ruffin...there her uglee ass picture and book is. Who does she think she is? Anytime his name is mentioned, there she is. Who does she think she is? She needs to take a good look in the mirror, she just might discover who she really is. A washed up old hag trying to live her fantasies thru a dead man's image. Who is she really?

Two Sides to Every Story.....
Most of our lives have been filled with experiences of every sort, from great happiness to deep hurt and sufferings. When the experience is shared by two or more people, they each perceive it differently. Often when a story is told and it has to do with human nature, we need to remember that "there are always two sides to every story. When we find ourselves in a place of discernment or judgement, don't be so quick to except everything as fact. I've never heard Mr. Ruffin's side of Ms. Genna's story and never will I hear it by his own lips, so I prefer to continue to love his great talents and enjoy his songs as I always have without judging him or putting him down. As to why Ms Genna has taken his name after he died, I'm totally perplexed. Yet, what I find even more perplexing is that she said their relationship is not yet finished, that they will get it right the next time. Does she love him or does she hate him? What is she holding on to? Why after all these years can't she let go? One thing for sure is that by experience we are taught, but we do not always learn.

I had a hard time understanding, reading the book. It was the most illiterate book I've ever read. Despite everything said about David Ruffin in this book, It didn't make me feel any different about him. The negative things said about him and the life experience she had with him, what does that say about her? To stay with a man that was said to be so horrible to her, what does that say about women? I am a fan of David Ruffin as an entertainer. He was only human too.

Every now and then, I "Google" my maiden name just to see what's on line. I had forgotten my posting here. I am the niece of David and first cousin to Lynette, Nedra, Kim and David, Jr. We have the same grandmother and our fathers are brothers.
While Genna Sapia continues to disgrace the legacy of David Ruffin, I feel that we should stop putting her down. She has a problem and through Christian love, I will continue to pray for her. Her book, is her book. It is "her" interpretation of her relationship. I was not there and only she can give her perspective.

These are the facts.
David Ruffin was married to Sandra Ruffin...she was his first wife and the mother of his three daughters. Out of respect to this woman who is very much alive and well in Detroit...it is insulting that Genna claims to be "Mrs. David Ruffin." Changing her name to Ruffin is her business (even though I don't like it) but, claiming to be a former wife when a former wife is still alive is a bit rude.
Secondly, David was married a second time to Joy Hamilton. She too, is still alive (as far as I know).
Thirdly, David Jr. is my cousin and my Uncle did claim him and even took him on tour with him and introduced him as his son.
Out of respect to him, I will not be rude to his mother. I love them and pray that they be more considerate to my father (David's brother) and to David's daughters when they try to exploit his name and degrade him in books and sell his belongings on E-Bay. What happens between a man and a woman is their business. I really don't care to know about Genna's relationship with David because it is none of my business. David was a good person. He had his flaws, just like we all do. If you ever knew the pain and suffering he experienced as a child... it might explain his addiction, but he was even strong enough, through the grace of God to beat that addiction. Please do not insult my cousin's mother. She is wrong, but she is human. God will take care of all of us and it is up to us to repent and try to live a Godly life and live peaceably among all men as much as it is possible within us.
